Brunello di Montalcino DOCG

SELECT VINTAGE

Description

The new Brunello
Vigna Tre Querci, known also as Monica’s Vineyard, is the protagonist of this new Brunello wine. It is topped by three old oaks and is located in the northern area of Montalcino. The vines had been planted back in 2017, just be the older vineyard of Poggio Cerrino. Soils change quickly, and are characterized by a bigger amount of limestone. The name, Tre Querci, Three Oaks, recalls Cerrino, Quercus Cerri, the place where the vineyard is located. The label chosen to be used for this wine is the very same one used by Tiezzi Winery back in the Eighties, just a bit retouched on its design: to always remember who we are and who we were.

Tasting notes

The use of concrete has brought out the purest expressions of the Sangiovese grape, giving us a Brunello that immediately stands out from our other wines. It's more lively, with explosive aromas of violet, hyacinth, wisteria, blackberry, blackcurrant, pomegranate, orange, and hibiscus. The typical aromas of our other Brunellos are also present, with balsamic notes of iron and cinchona, licorice and mint, and mineral hints of flint. On the palate, the significant freshness is reminiscent of sea breezes and is surprising. Salinity is the distinguishing feature.
